Cheviot Hills Addition

A 1,000 square foot house nearly doubles in size.

Located in a highly sought-after West Los Angeles neighborhood, this single-story residence was typical of its era; well located, but limited in space. Our clients were drawn to the property for its setting, with the intention of thoughtfully expanding the home to better support contemporary living.

The renovation introduces a new primary suite, expands the main living areas, and strengthens the indoor/ outdoor connection, all while preserving as much of the backyard as possible. Design and construction efficiency guided the approach, allowing the new work to integrate seamlessly with the existing structure while minimizing demolition.

For privacy, an intimate upper floor is created for the primary suite. Soaring above a new exterior deck and expanded lower-level, the addition brings balance, light, and a renewed sense of scale to the home. What was once an undersized house now supports a comfortable, intentional way of living.

The project is currently under construction, with an estimated timeline of 6 months from demolition to completion.
